Jug Handle Trail: Location 12
These tall trees with scaly bark are Sitka spruce. They grow along the Pacific coast from Alaska to Caspar Creek. Their long, slim, clay-colored cones are scattered along the trail - they are smaller than pine cones and more pliable, and their scales have ragged edges.
